Swim Across America
As you commute into work this day, know that some hearty souls will be already out swimming their way from Rowes Wharf to the Boston Lighthouse and back as part of the Swim Across America Boston Harbor Swim. The 22 mile swim is done by teams in relay stages and the entire event takes approximately 8 hours to complete. All proceeds benefit the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Program at Dana-Farber. If knocking out one leg of a 22 mile open water swim is a little beyond your training regime, you can still help by making a donation or volunteering.

Registration 6am

Rock and Blues Cruise -Ernie & the Automatics
Time: 8:00pm
Location: Boston Harbor Cruises, One Long Wharf, Boston, MA
Founded by the star of your favorite local car advertisements, Ernie (that's Boch, Jr. to you) and the Automatics, are a Boston-based rock 'n roll band with a bluesy twist.

Join Ernie and the Automatics July 11 at 8pm for a Rock and Blues Concert cruise aboard the Frederick L. Nolan, Jr.

Founded by Ernie Boch Jr, the Automatics feature a dream machine lineup. Ernie, a guitarist and Berklee grad, drew from some of Boston's most successful musicians. "I've got two retired rock stars, and two professional guys that play all the time," said Ernie. The band features the musical talents of Sib Hashian and Barry Goudreau - both former members of the multi-platinum selling band Boston - along with Tim Archibald and Brian Maes, who along with Barry was in the post-Boston project that also featured the late Brad Delp, RTZ, as well as with Peter Wolf and the House Party Five. Rounding out the band is special guest Michael "Tunes" Antunes on sax, an original and current member of John Cafferty's Beaver Brown Band. On any given night there could be any number of Boston finest musicians joining in as well, including James Montgomery or Johnny A, and the band has opened for Johnny Winter, BB King, Godsmack and Los Lobos.

"The Automatics are essentially a blues band with a rock n' roll edge, able to move from jump blues to shuffles to cool Southern rock at any point in a set. The music largely centers on the guitar interplay between Ernie and Barry, resulting in a dynamic sound. When Ernie plays, his enjoyment of the music shines through with his raw Tele tone and bluesy note choice; Barry's guitar often stands in sharp contrast, with a more "uptown" feel and a deep, thick tone that never gives up its identity as a Stratocaster. This mixture has led Ernie and the Automatics to build a devoted following in the Boston area." (Premier Guitar Magazine)

Will call tickets can be picked up at Boston Harbor Cruises at the gate where the Frederick L. Nolan, Jr is docked beginning 7pm night of show. Boarding will begin at 7:30pm. Ticket holders must be 21+ unless otherwise noted

Discounted parking will be available at the International Place garage across from the Boston Harbor Hotel just a short walk from Long Wharf. Parking at that location is $5 if you enter the garage after 6pm. The Rock and Blues Cruises are also easily accessible by public transportation by taking the Blue Line to the Aquarium stop.

Rock and Blues Cruises are available for charter for corporate events and community group outings. For information on private cruises and group ticket sales for our existing calendar of events, please email info@rockandbluescruise.com or call the Rock and Blues Cruise Info Line at 617-467-4037.
