Boston Pops EdgeFest 2008
Boston Pops EdgeFest 2008 – Amanda Palmer
Time: 8:00PM
Location: Symphony Hall, 301 Mass Ave, Boston, MA 02115.
In this special presentation by Amanda Palmer, classic orchestra and punk cabaret collide to take her goth performance art to a new level. While some have called it theatrical rock, punk cabaret, manic-musical, neo-glam-torch,… eventually even the most clever and creative describers shrug and say: “You just have to hear it to believe it.”
EdgeFest Café
After each EdgeFest concert, hear the best of today's emerging talent. The Luminescent Orchestrii, a gypsy tango klezmer punk acoustic string band from New York City, will perform after Amanda Palmers' Edgefest concerts on June 19 and 20 at Symphony Hall.

Single tickets are available by calling SymphonyCarge at (888) 266-1200, the Symphony Hall Box Office on the web at www.bostonpops.org.

Realizing the Dream Fundraiser
Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation has had a 29 year history of economic and housing development, our own in-house small business and home owner loan fund, and a 18 year history of community organizing. We have built or renovated 704 units of rental housing, 63 cooperative ownership units, and 149 home ownership units. We have broadened our programs to include resident technology training, job linkage programs, and multiple activities for youth and local schools. We rehabbed the Pierce Building, one of the first CDC mixed use buildings, in 1985; the America's Food Basket building in 1987; and the Dudley Terrace Mixed use building in 1985. In 2001 we brought Hellas Video and Hellas Restaurant to their commercial building at 756 Dudley Street in Uphams Corner. Dorchester Bay EDC also conducted an environmental site assessment of the Daloz Dry Cleaners building, which enabled the artist-owners to access state Brownfield resources, insure liability protection, buy the property inexpensively, and create 22 artist studios in the old buildings. The DEDC is celebrating its 29th year with a fundraiser at the Commonwealth Museum on Columbia Point.. Time: 6:00 PM
