Kennedy Children’s Action Corps’ Embracing the Legacy Award for their work that has made the world a better place for children and families. Bassuk, is a medical doctor, board certified psychiatrist, and an associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and has been committed to tackling the widespread problem of family and child homelessness. Rodman, president of Rodman Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, and president of Rodman Ride for Kids, has dedicated countless hours to raising money and resources for financially disadvantaged children in Massachusetts. The Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps is a beneficiary of the Rodman Ride for Kids. Wright has committed his entire professional and personal life to the pursuit of social justice for young people, their families, and the broader community through his work with several non-profit organizations that address inner city poverty. He created Dare Incorporated, a non-profit agency that provides children under state care with food, shelter, therapy and services. Since 1972, Zuckerman has cared for thousands of poor children as a pediatrician at Boston Medical Center, seeing the connection between illness and poverty firsthand. The Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Actions Corps 26th Annual Embracing the Legacy Awards Dinner celebrates the legacy of Robert F. Kennedy and the child welfare and advocacy work of the organization named in his honor. Through the dinner, the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Actions Corps hopes to raise $150,000 to support its programs for underserved youth. The agency is a leader in children’s welfare, juvenile justice, advocacy and treatment for children and families in Massachusetts. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11 at the JFK Presidential Library & Museum, Columbia Point, Boston. Tickets are $250. A Fundraising Gala ~ Boston Landmarks Orchestra Celebrates 8 Years of Free Concerts with Gala Time: 6:00pm Location: Taj Boston, 15 Arlington Street, Boston, MA 02116 A fundraising gala; honoring Clara Wainwright, artist and founder of First Night, Boston. The orchestra will preview its newest piece for young audiences, John Adams: The Voice Heard ‘Round the World.
