Surprise Party to benefit the Friends of Dana-Farber, May 30

BOSTON – There will be a few tricks up the proverbial sleeve at the inaugural Surprise Party to benefit the Friends of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Friends annual Gala has been transformed into this signature event of surprises designed to astonish guests at the Wang Theatre on May 30.

Premiere planner Rafanelli Events is producing the extraordinary affair filled with dinner, dancing and breathtaking experiences for all. In keeping with the unique theme of the event, many of the awe-inspiring specifics of the evening will be closely guarded secrets until they are unveiled that night. Event Chairs Nina and David Fialkow, Vice Chairs Sinesia and Bill Karol, and Audrey and Mark Schuster, promise the clandestine details will be worth the wait.

“Boston has rarely seen an extravaganza like the one we are planning,” says Event Chair Nina Fialkow. “Guests will be amazed throughout the evening and will never know when another surprise will be revealed.”

Surprise Party will benefit the Friends of Dana-Farber. The Friends, an all-volunteer organization of more than 1500 members, takes pride in serving Dana-Farber through patient services, educational activities, and fundraising. Funds raised by Friends are allocated for research fellows and treatment programs throughout all divisions and departments of Dana-Farber, including nursing, social services, and pastoral care. The Friends provides seed money and follow-up funding for innovative basic research and clinical trials led by researchers at critical junctures in their careers and fosters programs that reach out to the community at large.

“This will be a wonderful social event and a tremendous boost to the work done by the Friends,” says Co-President of the Friends Lauren Frei. “It will help us continue our efforts to improving the lives of people affected by cancer,” adds fellow Co-President Diane Flynn.

A variety of ticket packages are available. For those who wish to attend, packages that include tickets to the dinner start at $2500 for two seats. Each level of commitment to Surprise Party includes various benefits and recognition.
