Free Sailing Open House at the Boston Sailing Center Location: 54 Lewis Wharf, Boston MA To kick off the Memorial Day weekend in style, the Boston Sailing Center will offer free sailboat rides along Boston's historic waterfront during a special public open house celebration and reception. First-time sailors of all ages as well as more experienced skippers are invited to join the fun. 'Round-the-harbor sailing trips will be conducted by Center members and staff aboard boats ranging in length from 23 to 40 feet. Complimentary refreshments will be served. Teaching staff will be available to answer questions about the Center’s learn to sail programs and about specific aspects of sailing in local waters. Presented by Whole Foods Market, EarthFest will take to the stage from Noon to 6:00 p.m. featuring a stellar music line-up, a host of environmental activities celebrating the earth, an interactive family area, a local music stage and much, much more. The Radio 92.9 EarthFest is the largest free radio station concert in Boston. The event is produced in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Past events have drawn in excess of 100,000 people. While the talent for this year’s event will not be announced until mid-April, previous Earthfest performers include KT Tunstall, Guster, and Mat Kearney. In addition to great musical performances, the Radio 92.9 EarthFest will once again feature a family stage and activity area with interactive programs and games for children. Drawing a large crowd last year, the expanded family area will embody performances from family-friendly acts as well as activities ranging from face painting to creating arts with recycled materials.
