Michael Jackson Sing-A-Long at The Coolidge Corner Theatre
Time: 12:00pm
Location: The Coolidge Corner Theatre
Sat, April 5 @ midnite

$12 all seats - Tickets on Sale Now!

Back before rumors of Michael’s questionable slumber parties at the Neverland Ranch, the courtroom dramas, the nose jobs and hanging his baby out a window… There was the King of Pop. And he was Bad. And we loved him. This show will feature all of the MJ short films that we grew up loving, including CAPTAIN EO (although not, unfortunately, in 3D), BAD (the full 18 minute Martin Scorsese masterpiece), BLACK OR WHITE (the full-on version banned from TV after FOX aired it after an episode of the Simpsons), and of course all of course THRILLER!!!

Weddings, prisons, and graveyards - thanks to the new popularity of reenacting the Thriller dance on YouTube, we've seen people break into spontaneous synchronized dancing more times in real life than we have in movies like 13 GOING ON 30. Now we want to teach a little bit of it to you. That's right, we’re going to start off this edition of the Michael Jackson Sing-Along with a special dance lesson so that anyone attending can have a head start in participating in this year’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record for having the most people simultaneously doing the Thriller dance all over the globe. Get ready to Thrill the World.

Hosted by Henri Mazza, the sing-a-long mastermind from Austin's Alamo Drafthouse who brought us the R. Kelly TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET, Jiggy Crunk, Ladies of the 80s, and Boy Band sing-a-longs!

Special Event
13 Hours of Cheese!
Schlock-Around-The-Clock at 10:00

Schlock: n. Something, such as merchandise or literature, that is inferior or shoddy; adj. Of inferior quality; cheap or shoddy.

Prepare yourselves ladies and gentlemen - it's going annual! Last year, thanks to the urging of a trusty Brattle employee, we embarked upon our first SCHLOCK-AROUND-THE-CLOCK MOVIE MARATHON. Quite frankly, once again, we have no idea what we'll be screening for our second voyage on the seas of cheese - but it's bound to vaguely resemble last year' lineup which included such gems as Shanty Tramp, Barb Wire, and The Terror Of Tiny Town!

Update!
Screenings confirmed so far include:

SPICE WORLD (1997) dir Bob Spiers w/ The Spice Girls, Alan Cumming, Richard E. Grant, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Elvis Costello, Elton John, Bob Geldof

THE BIG BIRD CAGE (1972) dir Jack Hill w/ Pam Grier, Anitra Ford, Candice Roman, Teda Bracci, Carol Speed, Karen McKevic, Sid Haig

GALAXINA (1980) dir William Sachs w/ Dorothy Stratten, Stephen Macht, Avery Schreiber

THE MANITOU (1978) dir William Girdler w/ Tony Curtis, Susan Strasberg, Michael Ansara, Stella Stevens, Ann Southern, Burgess Meredith

THE BLOOD OF DRACULA'S CASTLE (1969) dir Al Adamson & Jean Hewitt w/Alexander D'Arcy, Paula Raymond, Gene Otis Shayne, Jennifer Bishop

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD AND THE MONSTERS (1962) dir Roberto Rodriguez / K. Gordon Murray
POOR WHITE TRASH (1957) dir Harold Daniels w/ Lita Milan, Peter Graves, Timothy Carey

Full descriptions coming soon. SCHLOCK tickets are $20/$15 students & Brattle members (must present valid student ID or Brattle member card at box office).

Event runs from 10 PM Sat until 11 AM Sun!
