    The Fenway Alliance is a consortium of 21 national and internationally renowned cultural and academic institutions all located in the Fenway that define the best of arts, culture, education, and research in Boston and beyond. Opening Our Doors, our signature event, aims to bring together our members and community in a wonderfully diverse day of FREE cultural offerings for the entire family. Member institutions and partners host activities ranging from musical and dance performances to historic tours and lectures, special "behind-the-scenes" looks at Alliance institutions, walking tours of The Fenway, and much more! Highlights at the 16th Annual Opening Our Doors Festival will include: the Kick-off Ceremony, ARCK's large interactive dry erase mural, and performances by the Hyde Square Task Force and Boston Children's Choir at the Christian Science Plaza, "Painted to Play" pianos, food truck, and Julie Ann Otis' American Therapy Booth at Evans Way, a musical playground provided by the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the YMCA of Greater Boston's lobby, and various activities and student performances at Northeastern University's Krentzman Quadrangle.     Wearing bear skin may be a faux pas, but seeing Rogue Burlesque's bare skin will make you pause. Join us as we navigate the animalistic kingdom of striptease in Lions, Tigers & Bare! Grab your binoculars and come along for a wild ride. If you're lucky, you'll be able to see some rare birds, exotic plants and scary carnivores. Who knows - you may even learn a thing or two about the origin of life! Plus all the way from New York, put your paws together for Broody Valentino! Broody is New York City's "Teddy Bear With Claws," an award-winning Boylesque performer, puppet artist and Theatre educator. If you missed him at Alterna-Tease 2017, you won't want to miss him this time! We promise the audience will be safe from the animals - most of them don't bite anyways. So strap in for one silly, seductive safari!

    To all Dance, Music, Theater and lovers of Yoga: Unity of Central Mass will host Bharata Natyam- for New Audiences (BNFNA). This program was designed to introduce and build new audiences to the art form. This series is celebrating its 10th season of touring the United States. The performance will be held on Feb 17th, 2018 6:00pm-7:30pm. Jaan R. Freeman, Artistic Director of New York's Dakshina Palli, Inc and Bharata Natyam dancer will present this program. Mr. Freeman performs in the rare Bharata Natyam family lineage of the late great South Indian Dancer T. Balasaraswati. Freeman a disciple of Nandini Ramani & Priyamvada Sankar, both senior disciples of the late T. Balasaraswati. This program is designed for new audiences but it is a delight for those who are educated and have been exposed to this wonderful art. This art brings together Hindu Philosophy, Ethics, Hindu Mythology, Carnatic Music (South Indian Music), poetry, theater, rhythm and movement of the 18th century South India. Many of interpretative dance items will draw from real life situations and emotions, which brings us into the current time. The program will feature items of the repertoire with narration and interpretation and an interactive dialogue with the audience throughout the program. Come celebrate witness and experience BNFNA performed by a vibrant, moving dancer of this great lineage!

    Celebrated flamenco dancer Jesús Carmona and his company of 10 dancers, musicians, and vocalists perform an innovative and emotionally charged program titled Impetu's (bursting with energy), set to beloved Spanish scores by Albéniz, Riqueni, and Escudero. Flamenco Festival 2018 continues with Compañía Eva Yerbabuena on Sunday, March 11, 8pm at the Berklee Performance Center.

    An extraordinary artist famed for her bold, powerful performances, Eva Yerbabuena maintains a riveting balance between artistic innovation and rich flamenco tradition. She performs the Boston premiere of ¡Ay! featuring dramatic solo dance accompanied by a percussionist, guitarist, violinist, and trio of male singers. Flamenco Festival 2018 begins with Ballet Flamenco Jesús Carmona on Saturday, March 10, 8pm at the Berklee Performance Center.
