The Boston Center for Adult Education Partners with Isis Maternity to Create First Foods Class for Parents.
WHAT: Wondering how and what to feed your 6 – 18 month old baby? Making healthy and tasty meals is easier than you might think!
Isis Maternity collaborates with the BCAE to offer new parents this program incorporating developmental information, food preparation, tasty samples and take-home recipes from first bites to finger foods.
Simple fruits, local vegetables, nutritious grains and quality proteins will be prepared in a variety of ways depending on the age of your child. Take advantage of local produce and farmer’s markets and learn to create a variety of colorful and appealing options to feed your growing infant or toddler.
In this 2 hour workshop learn the developmental stages of eating, what foods and textures to introduce by age and stage, and signs of food allergies and sensitivities. Get tips to make mealtimes more enjoyable and less stressful, with emphasis on healthy choices from the family table and how to avoid creating a picky eater.

On the menu: Sweet Potato & Sweet Pea Mash, Peach-Plum Cinnamon Oatmeal and Turkey Meatballs & Meatless “Meatballs” with Dipping Sauce.
