We are seeking ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES FOR ADVERTISING &
SPONSORSHIP who have sales experience. Join a well established Boston media
company today and help grow an exciting interactive media product combined
with events!
Individuals should be enthusiastic and focused on
building long-lasting customer relationships. In addition candidates should
possess strong communication skills, be confident, organized and enjoy the
thrill of closing new business. Working in a fast-paced, results-oriented
environment should be second nature. Being comfortable in new sales
situations and enjoying face-to-face sales a must. The ultimate Account
Executives would be goal-orientated, motivated and excited to join a
fast-paced, young, energetic team.
Responsibilities:
- Sell advertising & sponsorships to small, medium
and large size businesses
- Generate new customers both over the phone and
face-to-face
- Identify new business opportunities and decision
makers to obtain customer commitments
- Educate customers of company products, marketing
strategies and initiatives
- Understand the sales cycle with strong ability to
close
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years outside sales experience, preferably
online advertising or media sales
- Proven track record in attaining or exceeding sales
quotas
- Ability to maintain a high level of new business
while maintaining core client base
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work
independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation, networking, time management
and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of the Internet, ACT, MS
Office, Outlook and Excel
- Must be familiar with selling to agencies
Job location is Needham, MA just off route 128 and
accessible via the commuter rail.
This is a high
commission based opportunity for an experiences sales professional to make

The Boston Event Guide is seeking 4 interns for positions
in
PR/Marketing, sales,
promotions and editorial departments.
The selected individuals must be detailed orientated, well-rounded,
self-motivators with the capacity to work 10-15 hours per week ( Full
time winter/summer internships). These
are unpaid internships available for credit.
PR/Marketing Intern -
will work with the Boston Event Guide PR/Marketing team and
in conjunction with the sales and art department. Responsibilities include working with the Publisher to
execute and support the marketing plan, including all marketing messages
to be used in all aspects of the web site, magazine and by the sales team.
Additionally individuals will work on partnership building, community
outreach, creation of sales support tools, the media plan, event
planning/promoting and all other areas of marketing and pr.
Sales
Intern - will work with the Boston Event Guide sales
team and in conjunction with the marking and art departments.
Responsibilities include working with the sales manager qualifying sales
leads. Working with the account executives to execute sales and marketing
strategies designed to fit the needs of their clients, aiding them in
sending out media kits and following up on artwork. The selected
individual must be personable and familiar with the Boston area.
Event Photographers/Promotions
Intern - If you are a
social butterfly and love events we have a great opportunity that will make
you lick you lips. Go to the hottest events take photos and be the talk of
the town. Requires a
professional digital camera that can hold many pictures and last a long
time. You must be available to frequent events at night and on
weekends
Editorial
Intern - will
work with
the Boston Event Guide
editor to research articles and events to post on the website .
