Boston Event Guide Previous Rafters

August 22nd - 24th, 2008

Trip includes:

  • 2 fun days of rafting on the Kennebec River, ME

  • All meals and beverages including full breakfasts, BBQ, Lobster/Clambake (vegetarian available on request),

  • 2 nights lodging in cabin tents or the waterside Lodge.

  • Nightly parties with complimentary beer, wine and select cocktails.

  • Hot tub, volleyball, horseshoes and swimming

Kennebec River Gorge

The Kennebec River Gorge is one of the most beautiful in the East with steep rock walls on both sides, and with many waves that are four to six feet high. Paddle into rapids with names like Big Mama, White Washer, and the infamous Magic Falls. Then, with the rapids behind us, jump in and float with the current while you feel the power of the river taking you downstream.

After your raft trip, enjoy a delicious BBQ meal, followed by a slide and video show of your trip.

Fun Yaks

A Fun Yak is a cross between a raft and a canoe highly maneuverable and lots of fun! We do the lower Kennebec River, with lots of Class II whitewater, and plenty of surfing and playing in the water.

You'll have lots of instruction on how to paddle your Fun Yak, and there will always be a registered Maine whitewater guide on the trip.

Transportation:

We will be offering organized transportation if needed or we can easily match you up with a ride or ride-mates.

What to wear:
For your comfort, you should bring a bathing suit, sneakers, shorts, sweater, hat, windbreaker, or quick-drying nylon clothing. No cotton please!

You need to bring:

Pillow, warm clothes, rain gear, shorts, sturdy footwear, flashlight, sleeping bag.

Lodging options:

The almost camping option - Cabin tents (sturdy platform same sex tents that have individual singles bunks that sleep 8 - 20 people)

Not really roughing it option - new lodging facility next to the cabin tents featuring a variety of rooms so everyone has their own place to sleep (couples welcome) half baths, decks overlooking the river, and a large living room with a big screen TV. Ideal accommodations for a Boston Event Guide group.
