CAPPELLA Clausura, founded in 2004,
is a women¹s ensemble in Boston which specializes in the music written
through the centuries by women in clausurae, that is, in the cloisters.
We hope to shine a light on all composers who have struggled to answer
the call of the Muse despite considerable and often crippling social
taboos. Each season we hope to present at least one concert as a
benefit to support issues particular to women. Our goal is to place
this most wonderful music squarely in the standard repertoire while
raising money for organizations that help women, and thereby enhance the
lives of women and girls today both spiritually and practically. |
The Cambridge Multicultural Art Center (CMAC) is a

programs to educate the community about diversity, and make our facility
available to artists or groups that might not otherwise have access to a
professionally equipped facility or the cultural mainstream.

nurturing writers and connecting readers with the wealth of writing
talent in the Boston area.
We have two vital roles. We support writers at every
stage of their development by offering writing classes, fellowships,
employment, and networking opportunities, and by promoting the work of
local authors. Equally important, we enrich the lives of Boston-area
residents by introducing them to a community of fellow readers and
writers through author-hosted book clubs, informal discussions, movie
screenings and more.
Grub Street builds on Boston's proud
literary tradition by making the city more welcoming for writers, and
more inspiring and culturally alive for all of us.

(and our mind in the gutter) to build an honest, vibrant, multicultural
and progressive community. We believe the diverse realities of our
queer lives are our most powerful basis for cultural creation and
organizing – a chance to pierce through political and artistic orthodoxy
with a double-edged sword of honesty and outrage. We produce engaging
creative situations of all kinds. We vow to march boldly forward on the
cultural offensive line, swishing and stomping our way towards
liberation. Battles are fought on many fronts. We are The Theater
Offensive. |
