CARMEN – A World Premiere
At the Wang Theatre, May 11 – 21, 2006
A Carmen for the 21st century: Imagine...Carmen
as a supermodel, Escamillo as a race car driver, in this timeless story of
seduction, love, jealousy, obsession and betrayal. Boston Ballet Resident
Choreographer Jorma Elo takes a modern look at this passionate tale. The
evening opens with George Balanchine’s beautiful Serenade, set to the
stirring music of Tchaikovsky—the perfect complement to
Carmen.
