The band has
been together for five years now, but the music made by the members of
Remember September has never sounded the same, from year to year or even
from week to week, according to guitarist Chris Schod.
“Our sound is continually evolving,” Schod said in an interview with Boston
Event Guide. “I think that’s because our musicianship is a huge part of what
we do. We like to see where each song will take us musically, so it’s never
the idea of coming up with something that fits into a formula of what’s
‘popular.’ It’s a big reason we like playing live so much. We like to keep
things interesting and get the audience to open up with each song.”
Remember September will be playing live tonight on BEG’s Summer Party Cruise
aboard the MV Provincetown II, leaving Commonwealth Pier at 8 p.m.
Along with its regular line up, the band will tonight be featuring new
singer Mary Albano. “Mary adds a whole new dimension to our sound,” Schod
said. “We actually just recorded a song called Lonely Road and the video for
it won a contest on MTV as best country song and we’re anything but a
country band. But that’s what’s great about what we do. We’re not trying to
fit into any mold beyond playing good music.”
