Little Dragon
Time: 9:00pm
Location: Great Scott
An enticing blend of synth-pop hooks and crisp electronic beats, Sweden's Little Dragon features the radiant vocals of Swedish-Japanese singer Yukimi Nagano, a mainstay of the European downtempo scene. She is joined by keyboardist Hakan Wirenstrand, bassist Fredrik Kallgren Wallin, and drummer Erik Bodin (who is also the percussionist for Swedish alt-folkie José González.) Their new album Machine Dreams is very much in step with the Swedish sound of the moment, filled with an intelligent playfulness. Little Dragon will play SXSW and Coachella this spring and is poised to have a pivotal break-through year.
